WIP african wildlife

Over the last few months I have been trying very hard to paint and sketch wildlife. My motivation for doing so has not been pure - I thought that it would be easier to sell wildlife paintings compared to still life or life models. While doing studies in pastel, charcoal and oil I have fallen in love with animals - the texture of their skins and their powerful presence.

Am still far from doing something that I feel really proud of but my studies are looking a lot better than the lifeless and over painted scribbles that I started with. The struggle continues!
